She stepped into the room, it was rather larger than what she thought it would be. She set what little personal belongings she had and began unpacking. She set aside a bottle of old Irish Gin, muttering to herself. She sat down, wondering to herself, reflecting.

Alizati stood in front of the door and chimed the bell. He was coming straight from work so he was still dressed in his full uniform, all clean and ironed as always.

The door swooshed open, as an Andorian eyed him and his rank, before her tense attention subsided. “Commander, how may I help you?”

Alizati was unsurprised to see an Andorian. He had read the name on the door and had a feeling their newest chief of tactical was from the icy planet. He bowed his head, how interesting his hair was only a few shades darker than the woman's skin. "I came to introduce myself. You are new to this station? I am the chief of engineering, Lieutenant Commander Alizati Dzharok."

“Pleasure to meet you Commander, as you most likely already aware, I’m Lt. Commander Sh’Drvai. However, I’d like to ask if you have read my file.” She spoke with a slight accent, in a mix of annoyed and logical. The Andorian continued to ponder to herself about this man, noting in her mind his apparent Vulcan-ness.

This was turning out to be a pretty standard meeting, Alizati did not expect anything unusual-- that is until the Commander inquired about her file. The accent mixed with something else he couldn't quite pinpoint. Alizati blinked a couple of times and took slow and even breaths, ah organic functions at least he remembered this time. "I have not," He answered, realising that with the dilemma he was facing with his update it could be a while until he could download the updated crew roster. He made note to access the Andorian's file manually and read it. "Is there something I should be aware of?"

“Just that I’m technically 148 years old, and about the last year’s temporal incident near Bajor, which was my previous assignment arriving in 2410.” It was brief, and she basically told the CEO everything she wanted him to know, except the more personal side to it. Maybe he’d pick up on her vagueness, but she didn’t care that much if he did.

Technically 148 years old. Romulan Alizati wanted to say 'you too'?, but Vulcan Alizati held his tongue and waited for the Andorian to explain her unique situation. He nodded when she explained as his mind shuffled through information to see if he had heard of such a phenomenon. Just because he was an android who could liteally just download the news, he did not know everything that was going on. No, that would be an immensely large data package and would quickly fill up his already limited memory. "Interesting. I am unfamiliar with the temporal incident in which you speak of, however if there is anying I can do to help you feel more comfortable on this station-- or this time period, you may ask. I am a bit of a time traveller myself, but in a different sense," Alizati said, briefly hinting at his origins just enough to hopefully show his good faith towards the Andorian, but not enough to give away the fact that he was anything but a normal flesh and blood Vulcan with a funny forehead.

She nodded, picking up on the vague wording this “Vulcan” liked to use. “Understood.” She decided not to push it, and he had done an act of respect, in her eyes, when he didn’t inquire about her past. “I will make a note of it. Is there anything else you wish to say?”

Alizati paused for the moment as his mind shfited through anything he could possibly ask. He definitely wanted to ask her about her past and well the past considering she and Dzharok seemed to have lived around the same time, but he also was not going to push it for their first meeting. He simply bowed his head once and said, "No, nothing else. I live just a couple doors down if you ever need anything, Commander." Please heistate to call upon me, he thought. Alizati may have sounded polite and open, but he was still very introverted and Vulcan. Plus, Men lived with him and he could only imagine the look on his boyfriend's face if an Andorian officer were to show up at their door. Certainly Men would not like unannounced guests. "Jolan tru," He said before giving the Commander a Vulcan salute (very strange paired with the Romulan goodbye) and headed back towards his quarters.

“Understood.” Came what might be the 107815th time she said that, maybe if she was a Vulcan she’d know the actual amount instead of guessing. The Andorian raised her hand, saluting back. “Peace & long life.” She headed back into her quarters. Jolan Tru? She never heard of it, maybe it was a new Vulcan thing.

A yell rang out in the room, as the Andorian found herself sweating, out of breath. She rubbed her face, almost in disbelief of where she was. She got up out of her bed, her hair was frizzled and messy, clearly she had been moving frantically in bed. Madelii decided simply, she would get ready for the day, even if it was late at night. She had gotten used to staying up for so long, and she somewhat feared of going back to sleep.

She sat in her quarters, as the silent drone of the environmental systems and machines were the only thing audible in the room. She seemed restless, her eyes were beginning to form dark lines underneath. She waited with an anxious twitch in her fingers, hopefully this could work.

A few minutes later here he was, dressed in his uniform as always, he buzzed the door and waited for a reply. Alizati had to take some time to set up a new game of Kal-toh with the Furberus before visiting Madelii, but thankfully that didn't take too long.

“Come in.” The door slid open and it revealed the cold room, simple and devoid of much personality. The Andorian stood, and turned to salute the Vulcan. “Welcome Commander, please take a seat.”

Alizati stepped into the Andorian:s quarters and gave her a Vulcan salute. How nice, he hadn't done that in a while. "Jolan tru," But he gave a Romulan greeting. He took a seat in one of the nice chairs and looked at the colleague, wondering what this 'private matter' could be. "You had something you wished to speak with me about?"

“It is rather personal.” She shifted in her seat, taking a breath before continuing. “Recently, the frequency of traumatic nightmares have steadily increased. I know from events aboard the first Enterprise that Vulcans are able to wipe memories. Do you know anyone who could do that?”
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Alizati Dzharok | ENG BOT 09-Sep-22 01:32 PM
Traumatic nightmares? Alizati's dark eyes fixed on Madelii, studying her body language carefully. He had read her file and understood her situation a little although they were not particularly close. Then when she said 'wipe memories'-- that made a shiver run down his spine and his brows furrow. "I am an android," Alizati stated, although he had a feeling she knew that. "And even if I wasn't, I would not advise that. Deleting memories is dangerous, it can cause imbalances in your thoughts and feelings," He spoke firmly and confidently, there was no way in Erebus that he was going to let this officer do an organic version of what he did. "I once followed down the path you are trying to take and it did not end well for me. I felt lost, confused, and more importantly it hindered my work. I advise you to speak with one of our many counsellors onboard who can help you with these nightmares."

She subtly frowned, taking a moment. “I understand, but what are the side effects of just 10 minutes being erased? I only need 10.” She seemed oddly insistent. Somewhat illogically, it seemed she didn’t trust counsellors, or maybe she didn’t trust anyone.

"Even ten minutes is a big change," Alizati was also very aware of the Vulcan meditation practice that erased emotions and of course memories. It was something Dzharok had attempted, something his boyfriend did too. Again, not good outcomes for either of them. Men had his fair share of struggles and Dzharok's result... Well the man murdered his whole family. "I urge you to speak with the counsellors. I could put in a recommendation if you would like. I understand making an appointment on your own is difficult," Many organic beings resisted mental health services and whilst Alizati had never seen a counsellor himself, he did understand they were a valuable resources.

She let out a defeated sigh, as her gaze darted about the room. “You can, just be discreet.” She didn’t want to jeopardize her authority, or even her warrior’s spirit, but she saw that it was the only way. “I apologize, Commander. This must be a waste of time.”

Alizati stood up and nodded at the Andorian. "I wish I could be more of help. I am not very skilled in the workings of an organic mind," His boyfriend had been to counselling and even spoken to him about the experience, but that hardly made him qualified to help Madelii with her nightmares. "It is not a waste of time, I am always here to support my fellow officers in any way I can. If there is anything else you would like to ask, feel free."

Hearing that was a relief. Based on her past experiences with Vulcans, they never thought that emotions or their discussion was ever a good use of time. “Thank you Commander. I hope in time, we could understand each other better.”
